WTF? Was the ending of the Sopranos a Mistake?

I’ll come back in a little bit to write about how I was pleased with the end of The Sopranos – that filthy dirtbag Phil got what he deserved. But was the end of the show a mistake?

Did you all see what we saw? Meadow had trouble parking her car, then as she came into the diner, Tony looked up and the entire show cut to black with no sound until the credits started a few seconds later. Is that what you all saw?

Was that a mistake? Because that was building up to be the best way to ever end a hit show like The Sopranos…and then it cut to black before we saw a final moment.

Huh?

Paris’ Problem is Easy to Diagnose

Paris Hilton is an idiot. That’s her diagnosis. When I watch the television and I see psychotherapists talking about the myriad problems that Paris Hilton is dealing with (or is potentially dealing with), it makes me laugh.

Folks, they put Paris Hilton in a jail cell where she had 1 hour a day to go out and shower, talk on the phone, etc. That means she spent 23 hours per day in the same jail cell. You want to know what Hell is? Hell is an idiot left alone with her thoughts and Paris Hilton is now in Hell.

Do I feel sorry for Paris Hilton? Absolutely not! Not only do I loathe her dumb, stupid existence, but I love that her parents are being publicly humiliated throughout this ordeal. When that bimbo cried out in court for her mother when she realized that she was screwed and she was going back to the clink, it was a thing of beauty. Poetic justice if there ever was any. Paris crying out for her Mom to help her in this situation when it was her mother’s piss poor parenting that essentially put her in this spot in the first place.

Leave Paris in the slammer! Let her understand why it’s important to get an education. Let her stupidity drive her insane. Let her parents learn a lesson on what a hideous, stupid creature they made.

The Final Episode of the Sopranos – Some Ideas

With Bobby and Sil all but dead and Tony holed up in a safe house, what can we expect for the Soprano crime family going into tonight’s series-ending finale? Well, the one thing we know about The Sopranos is that nothing is certain, but here are some of the best theories that I’ve heard about tonight’s episode over the course of the last seven days…

Some people think that Tony will call his FBI friends and become a rat in exchange for his and his family’s protection. Personally, I don’t think this is the way to go – let’s not forget what happened to Adrianna when Christopher told Tony that she was talking to the feds. Also, I read online that Tony Sirico, the actor who plays Paulie Walnuts, has a clause in his contract that doesn’t allow him to be a rat in the series due to his personal history. So unless Tony plans on duping what’s left of his mob family to save his blood family, I doubt that heading to the feds will be the way to go.

There is a lot of speculation that Tony might die in the final episode. The only thing that I’ve realized about this scenario is that most of New Jersey will be up in arms if Tony gets whacked. That is to say, we would be up in arms if Tony gets whacked and Phil Leotardo gets away with being a scumbag. I look for Tony and Phil to both get put in life-threatening situations, but I’m hoping that Phil is the one who gets knocked off in the end.

Another thing that’s worth mentioning is that we know the entire Soprano family will be in tonight’s episode from last week’s preview. We also know that the final scene is in an ice cream parlor due to the heavy media discussion about it in March. Also, there were a few media reports of some shots for the final episode taking place in Long Branch, New Jersey on the shore. So what does all of that add up to?

Damned if I know!

One of the worst potential outcomes that I heard over the last week was the dream sequence outcome. The dream sequence has been used to erase large swatches of storylines from sitcoms and dramas over the course of television history. From Al Bundy waking up in the middle of one season of Married with Children only to realize that Peg ISN’T pregnant to the entire eighth season of the fabled Dallas drama, the dream sequence is a viable option for big-time shows. Except the series ender for The Sopranos!

Some has speculated that Kevin Finnerty (Tony’s dream sequence character) will wind up being the in the real world while this Tony Soprano person turns out to be just someone that Kevin wishes he could be in “real life.” Freaky, huh? However, I think the best judgment on this one is to leave the crazy dream sequences to shows that are in the middle of their run, not at the end.

So that’s what I’ve been reading about for tonight’s final episode ever of The Sopranos. What will happen exactly? We’ll just have to wait and see…

Paris Hilton Belongs in Jail

How many of us have been pulled over by a cop and given a ticket that is completely unjust? You know this bullshit – you get pulled over and the cop goes, “Do you know why I pulled you over?” A few minutes later and you’re getting a seatbelt ticket when you were clearly pulled over because you were speeding. The Founding Fathers would shit their pants if they saw the debacle that America’s criminal justice system has become today.

Now take that scenario to the next level. You go to your friend’s house and you have a few beers. You drive the .5 mile drive back to your place and you get pulled over and get a DWI. Now imagine you have a suspended license while doing this – of COURSE you’re going to go to jail!!!

Thank God the judge in this case ordered the sheriff to go get Paris. And thank God that when she DID come back to court, the judge sent her ass right back to prison. Hey, it’s not society’s fault if this fucking idiot bimbo started to get mental after only THREE days of sitting in a room with nothing to keep her company but her thoughts.

Scary, isn’t it? Paris Hilton alone in a room with her thoughts…

I don’t even know if Stephen King can write such horror!

Anyway, she belongs in jail for what she did. I would have went to jail, you would have went to jail, Paris Hilton belongs in jail. And good for the judge to send her to jail for the full sentence of 45 days.

There might just be justice in America yet!

Another Reason Why America’s Media is Ruining Our Nation

Many of you may have heard the following terms thrown around in the last few years when media pundits discuss America’s newspapers, radios, and cable and network news broadcasts: left-wing media bias, conservative talk radio, liberal slant, right-wing commentators…

America has a serious problem with its media sources and unless the people come together to fight this garbage, we’re in for some bad times. You see, the media has grown to help frame the world-at-large for the public. This is true for all aspects of the world from international wars to local trade to elections and more. Listening to the Democratic and Republican debates on CNN this week and reading the New York Times this morning made something abundantly clear – the upcoming Presidential race is NOT being framed in any meaningful manner by many of America’s media sources.

Example: This morning in the New York Times, a piece ran on the “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy currently enforced by the United States military. The piece focused on the two drastically different responses given by the Republican and Democratic candidates. Every Democrat raised his or her hand that they would repeal the current policy and let gays and lesbians serve openly. Every Republican candidate did NOT raise his hand when asked if they would repeal the policy.

From the New York Times:

The issue flared anew because it came up in this week’s debates, not because of any big new campaign initiative on either side. But aside from policy considerations, there is a political rationale for the Democrats’ stance: Gay men and lesbians make up an important part of the Democratic Party’s political and fund-raising base, and voters in general are increasingly tolerant on gay issues related to employment and discrimination, analysts say. While gay marriage remains deeply divisive, allowing openly gay men and lesbians to serve in time of war has a far more centrist appeal, advocates and analysts say.

This newspaper, which is quickly becoming irrelevant on many issues that the majority of Americans care about, managed to pump out a 1,000+ word article on this “issue” which it readily admits is not a major one for this campaign. Well then why did you waste your time and effort on this crap, New York Times? Better yet – why did the idiots at CNN decide to throw this question into their debate when there are MUCH more pressing issues in America today?

What issues are more pressing? How about the fact that FEMA is a bigger disaster than some of the natural disasters it is sent to clean up?! There was not one question in the entire Republican or Democratic debates about how the candidates would have handled the clean-up of a natural disaster the size and scope of Katrina.

But the lunatics at CNN ask about gays in the military? And we’re supposed to believe that they’re not being pressured to ask these ridiculous, completely-out-of-touch with reality questions by far-left extremists? Give me a break.

And the entire issue is one that many homosexuals could care less about. Sure, they’d like to openly serve in the military, but good Lord – they’re serving the country right NOW! You don’t see straight soldiers demanding that they be allowed to define their sexuality. You know why? Because it has absolutely NOTHING to do with the job at hand!

CNN making this an issue – and the New York Times covering it – pushes these two once-mighty media establishments deeper into the abyss.
