New Film on Charter Schools – “The Lottery”

Since I’m out in Chicago at the national charter schools conference while you’re reading this, I thought it would only be right if I shared some of the great data that is current out there about how charter schools are positively changing lives. Take a look at the clip below from FOX News.

I’m telling you – charter schools are the answer to the problems inherent in the current educational system. Either the current system has to break (unlikely) or we need more alternatives like charter schools.

Congratulations to Joseph P. Martino & The Bob Hope Memorial Library at Ellis Island

We just received word that one of this blog’s regular contributors, Mr. Joseph P. Martino of Millburn, New Jersey, has one of his poems on display at the Bob Hope Memorial Library at Ellis Island. This is a huge honor for Mr. Martino and we congratulate him for his tremendous poetic accomplishments! If anyone is heading to the Bob Hope Memorial Library at Ellis Island this weekend, be sure to find Mr. Martino’s poem – a tribute to Miss Liberty – in the library’s reading room.

Investor’s Business Daily Praises Chris “The Boss” Christie’s Fiscal Strength

For a state that is often the butt of jokes by those who know nothing about us, New Jersey is certainly getting a ton of good press coverage due to the unwavering fiscal responsibility being shown by Governor Chris Christie. The latest bit of praise for New Jersey comes from Investor’s Business Daily which wrote the following about our Governor:

The next time some of the more cowardly Republicans in Washington forget what they were elected to do, let them look to New Jersey and listen to the boss.

And ain’t that the truth, huh? I’m so sick of hearing about how the people in Washington, DC are deficit spending (i.e. spending our future tax dollars that haven’t even been collected yet). I’m so sick of hearing about how all of these government support programs are going to go broke before I’ll ever have a chance to access them as an older person or a person in need. Enough is enough. There are millions of people across this country, like me, who voted for change in the last Presidential election. What did we get? We traded a big spending Republican President for an even bigger spending Democratic President. It’s crap.

Real change has to start somewhere and it is starting right here in New Jersey. Governor Christie is doing to this state’s budget what we hope the 112th Congress does to our national budget – make the income match the expenses or (even better) make the income exceed the expenses. It’s not that hard, folks. It’s Budgeting 101. If I can make these types of budget decisions on a daily basis in my household, then why can’t the people in Washington, DC or the people who used to run Trenton make these decisions, too?

It’s a very simple procedure: if you have ten dollars and you want to buy something that costs fifteen dollars, you can’t afford to buy it so you look for an alternative or you wait until you have enough money to buy the item. Our Governor, Chris “The Boss” Christie, knows this and I’m glad that he’s bringing this fiscal responsibility to Trenton. Lord knows that this state needs it!

Governor Christie Comments on His Parents and His Direct, To the Point, Tone

You’ve got to love New Jersey Governor Chris Christie. Not only is he fixing the problems in this state with a head-on attitude, but he’s doing it in a clear, concise style that nobody can misinterpret. Governor Christie is a breath of fresh air because he tells us exactly what he’s thinking and he doesn’t hide from his own words. In fact, in the clip below Governor Christie talks about how he became the direct-speaking guy that he is and why he uses that direct-to-the-point tone.

Governor Christie is the man! Thank God we have him as our Governor. With this guy in charge, New Jersey might actually become a place that young people like me can actually afford to live in. Thanks, Governor!

Another Reason Why I Love the Job Chris Christie is Doing!

Chris Christie is the best thing to happen to New Jersey since, well, ever! I don’t know if you heard the latest comments that the Governor had to say to a liberal-minded reporter at a recent press question and answer session, but it was absolutely awesome! Take a look at the video below.

This is why the people love Chris Christie. And I’m not talking about the brainwashed unionized masses who hold up school children or public sector employment as a reason for them to be lauded with outlandish compensation packages. No. I’m talking about the people of New Jersey who don’t want to continue paying for the brainwashed unionized masses’ platinum-plated retirement packages and benefits programs. WE love Chris Christie because he speaks for US!
