Since I’m out in Chicago at the national charter schools conference while you’re reading this, I thought it would only be right if I shared some of the great data that is current out there about how charter schools are positively changing lives. Take a look at the clip below from FOX News.

I’m telling you – charter schools are the answer to the problems inherent in the current educational system. Either the current system has to break (unlikely) or we need more alternatives like charter schools.

I had the opportunity to see this film while I was at the National Charter Schools Conference this week. It really is heart-wrenching and it makes you realize just how important this charter school fight really is in the lives of inner city folks. What bothered me the most was the brainwashed masses that were hooting and hollering at the Harlem Academy people during a townhall meeting – nothing that they said was true in terms of facts and the passion that they showed was misplaced. They were passionately defending a traditional public school where the reading scores were 10% of state average! That’s completely ridiculous! But the parents don’t know that because of the government double-speak that goes on from the teachers’ unions and permanently-angry outside groups like ACORN.
It’s a good film – if you get a chance, I recommend watching it.
