Most people hate tax season…even those who work for the Internal Revenue Service. I saw a story the other day about an IRS agent from my hometown of Roxbury who was convicted on tax evasion charges. How about that, huh? Even the IRS hates paying taxes!
Just another example of how we are all human…even those in real or perceived positions of authority.
If the fair tax was enacted, there would be no more IRS.
I’m not necessarily onboard with the fair tax yet, but I am intrigued by it.
I could get down for a Fair Tax system. I think the issue that most pops up with it, though, is that for those who make considerably less than the majority of the population, paying a standard sales tax rate costs them much more of their overall income. On the flip side, a standard sales tax would make luxury items even more expense.
But frankly, we are already taxed to the death so I don’t think that flipping to a Fair Tax system is all too bad of an idea.
