So aside from the barrage of entries that I’m putting up tonight, I haven’t been as active on this blog as I once was. I hope to change that soon, but the truth is that I’ve been extraordinarily busy lately. Between work and fun it’s been hard to get on here to put up a post or two.
The lease on my apartment ends at the end of May and I’m not looking to get involved in another long-term lease by any means. I’ve been in this apartment for three straight years and one summer before that so I’ve got a ton of “shit” here that I’ve got to get moved out. Some of you may ask where I’m going. Well, the answer is that I know where I want to be, but where I want to be may not be where I’m going – right away at least.
I want to be owning my own house, condo, or townhouse in the Monmouth County area of New Jersey preferably close to where I live now. I’ve had the great opportunity through a good friend (and fraternity brother) of mine at Weichert Realtors to tour some of the local properties that are in my price range and they really are nice. For me right now, though, it’s a matter of arranging financing. Believe it or not, there are a bunch of banks who want to give me a mortgage regardless of my incredible student loan debt. But finding the best deal that is the most affordable is really what will make or break the deal for me.
So while I work out this financing situation – and ironically work on financing other real estate projects while I’m at work – I may be in a situation where I’m moving home with Mom and Dad! I use the term “moving home” loosely because all of my “stuff” will be put into a storage unit in Monmouth County and the only thing that I’ll have with me at my parents’ house is a bed and a suitcase full of clothes.
I also use that term loosely because I’ll be spending 80% of my time down the shore or in Trenton. However, I’m sure it’ll be fun living at home again – even if only for a short period of time.
In the mean time, if any of you want to give me money to buy a house – you just let me know, okay? 🙂
