Last night when I was sitting in traffic on my ride home, I got bumped by the guy sitting in traffic behind me. I don’t mean like he nudged into my rear end and I was like, “Huh? What was that?”
I mean this guy was at a dead stop (as I was) and he jammed on his gas for a split second and gave me a good push that shocked the hell out of me. So I put my car on brake, got out, surveyed the damage and the guy got out of his car to do the same. I should mention that this was an older gentleman who smelled something like a rag used at the local bar… I would also like to mention that I’ve now been bumped TWICE by older citizens who can barely see over the steering wheel. Just had to note that…
I saw no discernable damage to my truck and noticed that this guy’s Beamer had a scrape on it from where he hit me. I asked the guy, “What happened here? Did you bump me?” And the old man repeated a few times, “Yeah, I bumped you. Yeah, I bumped you,” in a sallow tone.
Once I caught a whiff of the guy I said, “Listen – let’s just both go home, ok? No harm, no foul. Be careful next time.” He said, “Thank you,” and we went on our way.
I pulled into a parking lot a little ways ahead of where he bumped me and got out to survey the damage, which there was really nothing. So I think I did a good thing. The guy said he was on his way home, I didn’t call the police and grab my neck crying about whiplash (even though it was a good bump), and the court systems have one less case to worry about.
Now if my neck starts hurting me in about a week – I’m going to have to kick someone’s ass… 🙂
now if it were me i would have fell on the ground grabbing my chest and ding my best red fox impression ever…..
Dave is so crazy!!! You did a great job there Joe:) Congrats! However, some old foggies should not be driving!!! haha.. Course then again there are some youngins that shouldn’t be driving either!

if he did smell like a rag at the local bar he should have been called in to the cops due to the fact that he could have killed someone walking and not known it
