The annual Jerry Lewis Labor Day Weekend Telethon raised a record $61 million to fight muscular dystrophy. To date, Jerry Lewis and his telethon have raised some $1.35 billion to fight this ailment.
Can you imagine? This man raised over a billion dollars in the last 40 years to fight muscular dystrophy. That’s amazing! The man is a damn hero!
Anyone who can go out there and simply entertain an audience into literally giving their money away to help people that the audience probably will never meet is someone who knows what he’s doing.
With all of the “bad” news about killings overseas, deranged child molestors over here, gas prices, and the like, it’s nice to see some genuine good news come out of the media for a change.
