Just putting a quick shout out to Chris and the team at GradSpot.com. A few days ago I wrote my Top 5 Ways to Spend Less During the Holidays. This post was created for the GradSpot.com website, though it was previewed on JerseySmarts.com first. Well, the other day the post made its way on to the GradSpot.com main page.
Thanks to Chris and his team for sharing the love! And I suggest that my readers take a trip over to GradSpot.com and take a read – there’s some fun stuff over there!
GGL says
The term is “shout out,” GGB – not shot out.

GGB is going to take issue with this one, GGL. I think “shot out” is more when you just want to acknowledge something or someone whereas a “shout out” would be akin to hollering at someone. In the case of “hollering,” I would suggest that you are expecting someone to “holler back,” which is – in essence – asking for someone to acknowledge your existence.
By sending a shot out to a person or company, I am not expecting a response from them thus allowing them to not acknowledge my existence.
See?
GGL says
No – you are wrong. There is no such thing as a shot out. And shout out’s don’t require a response – a shout out is meant to acknowledge or mention someone.

Meh.

Would you like GGB to acknowledge GGL’s existence and contributions by changing the title of this entry to reflect “shout” instead of “shot?”
GGL says
Obvi.
Joe says
Existence acknowledged.
